Course I - Photography
Title: Theory pertaining to Cuban photography
Required at least 5 students
Contents: Cycle of conferences about the birth of photography in Cuba and its pioneers; Documentary photography; Revolutionary photography in Cuba and the dawn of a new era for its development; Modernity and syncretism.
Modalities: There will be field trips for practicing individual photography that will be debated and analyzed collectively.
Programmed visits: There will be a field trip to the Fototeca de Cuba and the studio of a renowned Cuban photographer. In addition, a city tour and a visit to Las Terrazas will be available.
Requisites: Students shall provide their own camera.
Length: 27 hrs, (9 hours of theory and conferences, 12 hours of practice, 6 hours of collective criticism) 2 weeks.
